BMCU's Homecoming Celebration
During the week of October 28th through November 2nd leading up to homecoming game, students and faculty were given the opportunity to participate in a sprit week to hype them up. Throughout the week, there were activities planned for the students to attend such as an exciting bingo bash, musical karaoke fun, a spooky Halloween movie night, delectable doughnuts with Dean, a festive choir concert, brain wracking trivia, and a fellowship bonfire to finish off the week.
A core aspect of homecoming week is the aspect of school royalty, consisting of a king and queen selection and society royalty members. This year the Seniors nominated king and queen candidates Cosette Alsbrook, Josiah Putnam, Bethany Brown, Adam Burge, Vivian Housley, and Jacob Carter. Later on, the student body eventually got to vote and selected Josiah Putnam and Bethany Brown as the homecoming king and queen.
The rest of the court was made up of two girls from each females’ society and three men from each mens’ society. Sarah Martindale escorted by Braxton Enzor (Macedonian society) and Bailey Rodgers escorted by Steven Crawford (Berean Society) represented the Eunomian Society. Lauren Milford and Baleigh Bray represented the Modenian Society, Berean men Caleb Hughes and Blake Gresham escorted both. Katie Meeks and Emma Laney both represented the Euzelian society escorted by both Macedonian men Lelan Boulden and Erick Flores. Each member of the court this year stunned, representing BMCU in their particular colors.
The apex of homecoming pertains to basketball, and BMCU rocked the nets this year. Both the Topper Men’s and Women’s basketball teams played a homecoming game and they were both phenomenal. The girls won their homecoming game against Tougaloo with a score of 80 to 45. The Topper Men won their homecoming game against the South Eastern Baptist Chargers with a score of 95 to 40. If anything is clear, BMCU’s basketball teams mean business whenever they take the court by storm.
BMCU’s homecoming festivities were a hit this year, whether it be fall-time fellowship with other people, the students in their classy best for the court, or basketball bringing in win after win for their games.
